☄️ Citroen Berlingo 1.6 Hdi Not Starting

The alternator on my m59 / 2007 with the 1.6 hdi is playing up. So I have to remove and replace it, -- it looks very tight there to work. Who has done it and can run the procedure by me? I would be very thankful. Is there a design reason why they start failing after 60 tsd miles? Ideally the proper Citroen diagnostic software, DiagBox, is ideal for properly diagnosing and testing systems on these cars, as standard OBD stuff is not much cop on a Citroen. I did swap the one in the Mini as it was easy to access (it's right in front of you when you open the bonnet so no digging around in the dark trying to spot it) but then found that two out of the four glowplugs were u/s so just put the old relay back in From memory it was part of the Configuration section and had to be done in Manual mode, not auto mode. I think the default setting is 30 mins but you can set it to anything. Bear also in mind that my Berlingo is M59 (2005 2.0 HDi) and yours is B9 so they may be different.
