Problem is even if I get 6k back I won't be able to get another 3.0 TDI with my high spec. My friend who is a mechanic has offered to replace the timing chain, guides & tensioners but I'm not sure what to offer him, normal price is between £1500-2000 which i could never afford, would have to scrap it!
I have recently purchased a 2012 A6 Avant 3.0 TDI with a DPF fault which didnt really scare me as the car was cheap. Anyway I then discovered that the heaters are blowing cold (ish) air and not giving any hot air which the DPF specialist said I should have looked at before throwing money at the DPF. The garage has stripped half the dash.
He had a massive leak yes. Some seal around the heads blew out I think. Cost $2k at the dealer to fix the oil seal on a vw 5cyl. This does seem like it could be something with the oil filter housing, there is an upper (cap oring) and lower seal. They could have just forgot the cap o-ring :fingerscrossed:

I am the happy owner of an Audi A4 B7 3.0 TDI 204 (BKN) of 2005. It is a pleasure to drive it with a simple remap. But I want more power and I am limited with fuel pressure. With original map, fuel pressure mounts at 1600 bar, all is OK. And with my remap, I can't touch 1600 bar like original map (I ask 1600 bar a little earlier).
